Kaleidoscope is a device that holds mirror pieces of different angles, refracts the light that is reflected from the outside and brings out colorful patterns when examined. It’s also known as ‘flower binoculars’ for the visions it embodies look like flowers. Presenting a visual richness through small detail resolutions inside a holistic structure and the use of contrasts, kaleidoscope served as an inspiration regarding the assemblence of this group and the process of this exhibition. Works that are presented in the exhibition highly contributes to the whole extent of the exhibition along with its unique perspectives and stories. In other words, “Kaleidoscope Group Exhibition of Glassware” provides the opportunity to experience the expressions formed with words and different projections of aesthetics and technical reflections. Previously gathered in Ankara and merged under the name “Kaleidoscope” to render glass to be perceived as an artistic object in our country, the group aims to gather with art enthusiasts along with different artists for each exhibition. The common feature of the group is the fact that it’s formed of students, graduates and professors from Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Glass. Gathered with art enthusiasts for the first time in İstanbul at D’art Gallery between January 14 – February 5, the group will highly contribute both to the recognition of young artists who were involved in this exhibition and to the similar future organizations to be held within the field of glass. The exhibition was participated by Çiğdem Yurtseven, Fatma Çiftçi, İlker Yaman, Mustafa Ağatekin, Nihan Ertürk, Nurcan Abacı, Payam Latifi, Serkan Özer and Ufuk Akbey.
